For cleaning smelly hands after chopping onions or garlic- just rub hands on a stainless steel spoon under running water. The steel will amazingly remove the odors. Just like magic!

If you happen to over salt a pot of soup, just drop in a peeled whole potato. The potato will absorb the excess salt.

When boiling eggs, add a pinch of salt. The salt will keep the shells from cracking.

Burn a pot of rice? Just place a piece of white bread on top of the rice in a covered pot for 5-10 minutes. The bread will draw out the burned flavor. It won’t save the burned rice at the bottom of the pot so just make sure not to scrape up those bits when you serve the rice.

When defrosting mean from the freezer, pour a bit of vinegar over the meat. Not only will it tenderize the meat, it will also bring the freezing temperature of the meat down so it defrosts faster.
