Blizzard has released a patch for its decade old RTS hit StarCraft. Patch 1.16 offers some optimizations: “[StarCraft] now only uses as much CPU as it needs to run smoothly.” In-game chat (excluding whispers) is now saved in the replays. Blizzard has brought down the law on their online service Battle.net banning 350,000 hackers from using the StarCraft/Diablo II application. Blizzard today announced, during its BlizzCon StarCraft II panel, that StarCraft II is being turned into a trilogy. The trio of new screens Blizzard released earlier for their upcoming RTS StarCraft 2 bring the battle to Mar Sara, one of the first Terran colony planets to be infested by the Zerg. An online SKU search for the game on Best Buy, Circuit City, and Gamestop’s web sites reveal the same apparent release date of December 3, 2008.
