A partnership has been announced between Activision and the United Service Organizations, the group that provides American entertainment to troops stationed overseas. The video game publisher plans to ship over $100,000 worth of Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock game discs and peripherals to USO lounges around the world.
At the company’s Veteran’s Day pre-release events for Treyarch’s Call of Duty: World at War, they’ll set up shop at two GameStop stores in Washington, D.C. and San Francisco for fans to play against servicemen and women stationed at Fort Drum, NY, and 29 Palms, CA.
Activision is also donating $10 for every copy purchased at the Washington, D.C. location–up to $20,000–to the USO.
