Is This New... Or What?!

OK, so we've been getting quite a few questions on whether the product we have so passionately been talking about is actually new.  The simple answer is - YES!  There seems to be confusion on two fronts -
#1)  PHILLY already has a 1/3 Less Fat product
#2)  Light is the same as 1/3 Less Fat

Let's tackle #1 first.  Here's the scoop - PHILLY has a brick (rectangle carton) Neufchatel cheese, which is also called 1/3 Less Fat.  We've been making it for years.  It's super good.  Lots of people think it has all the taste of Original PHILLY.  We wanted our soft lower fat product to be just as good.  Which, brings me to #2…

We did have a PHILLY Light soft cream cheese (in a tub).  It fit the bill, but we wanted something better.  We wanted something that delivered a 'wow.'  So, we went back to the basics and started with the exact same ingredients we use for our Regular PHILLY cream cheese in a tub.  Thanks to the hard work of our R&D folks, they found the perfect combination of milk and cream that delivered a lower fat product, but still tastes good.  Actually, it tastes great.  That's why we're here, because we found something we hope will rock the cream cheese world. Similar to what Dreyer's/Edy's Slow Churned did for ice cream lovers across the country by giving them a low fat option without sacrificing on taste, we want people to say “bring on the 1/3 Less Fat PHILLY, because I’m tired of having to compromise on taste!”  Or something along those lines. 

That's it in the proverbial nutshell.  We're not pulling the wool over anybody's eyes.  We haven't added anything 'icky' to get to great taste.  We aren't repackaging our Light product.  This is new.  And it is rock solid good!
