Is AdamandTyler.com The Right Way To Reach Our Target Market?

A number of people have
asked whether building a site like this is going to effectively reach our
target market. The answer is - who knows? That's the beauty of trying new things. This is only one of many elements in our
marketing plan, so there shouldn't be any worry that we've ignored tried and
true tactics (or simply gone crazy). If
the Adam and Tyler efforts reach our target market, great, but the main idea
was to help support our JetBlue program with a team that was truly excited and
enthusiastic about the idea.

Truthfully, with a brand
like PHILLY, we have mass market appeal, which is wonderful, but also sometimes
makes it more difficult to convince the powers that be to try something a bit
more niche. That’s why, in addition to
AdamandTyler.com we're doing TV, on-line, broadband, and a sweepstakes, which
are all intended to get the message out about 1/3 Less Fat PHILLY in more broad,
traditionally accepted tactics.
Developing another way to spread the word, just seemed like a good,
common sense approach to the launch.

The point is, we have a
great product in 1/3 Less Fat PHILLY and we're really excited about getting it
"into as many mouths as possible." We're that convinced people will
love it, regardless of whether they're watching calories or not. Finding people outside our traditional target
market to try the product could never be considered a bad thing, and
AdamandTyler.com is one way to help us do just that… or at least that was our
hope!

Cheers,

Ericka, Adam, and Tyler

Is This New... Or What?!

OK, so we've been getting quite a few questions on whether
the product we have so passionately been talking about is actually new.
The simple answer is - YES! There seems to be confusion on two
fronts -
#1) PHILLY already has a 1/3 Less Fat product
#2) Light is the same as 1/3 Less Fat

Let's tackle #1 first. Here's the scoop - PHILLY has a brick (rectangle
carton) Neufchatel cheese, which is also called 1/3 Less Fat. We've been
making it for years. It's super good. Lots of people think it has
all the taste of Original PHILLY. We wanted our soft lower fat product to
be just as good. Which, brings me to #2…

We did have a PHILLY Light soft cream
cheese (in a tub). It fit the bill, but we wanted something better.
We wanted something that delivered a 'wow.' So, we went back to the
basics and started with the exact same ingredients we use for our Regular
PHILLY cream cheese in a tub. Thanks to the hard work of our R&D
folks, they found the perfect combination of milk and cream that delivered a
lower fat product, but still tastes good. Actually, it tastes great.
That's why we're here, because we found something we hope will rock the
cream cheese world. Similar to what Dreyer's/Edy's Slow Churned did for ice
cream lovers across the country by giving them a low fat option without
sacrificing on taste, we want people to say “bring on the 1/3 Less Fat PHILLY,
because I’m tired of having to compromise on taste!” Or something along those lines.

That's it in the proverbial nutshell. We're not pulling the wool over
anybody's eyes. We haven't added anything 'icky' to get to great taste.
We aren't repackaging our Light product. This is new. And it
is rock solid good!

-Ericka

"Twins" with Danny Devito and Arnold S? Are Adam and Tyler actors?

I'll let you decide which one is Danny
or Arnold...

Hello there friends, there have been some interesting comments
about Tyler and I being actors, putting too much effort into this and trying too
hard to be slick, reading from a script, etc. I'll respond from one of my
favorite lines in movie history..."Well allow me to retort" (Pulp
Fiction)

1) Adam and Tyler are actors - I'm not sure how to take
this as anything but a compliment. I'm sure both of us would like to believe
that we're the next Harrison Ford, but I can assure you that neither Tyler nor I
are actors. In an attempt at full disclosure, I did take an acting class when I
was an undergrad at the University of Wisconsin, but mainly focused on my
"dramatical work"...(I know, dramatical isn't a word). I can't speak for Tyler
and his acting experience, but I'm pretty sure he's clean
too.

2) Trying to be too slick - Totally appreciate the feedback
on this one, because one never knows how one's humor will be received by the
masses. I guess we wanted to do something fresh, but still wanted the site and
the quality of what we were doing to be high quality. To put it into
perspective, we spent less than a week going through the site design, planning
the trip, and the really high level idea of what we were going to do. Seriously.
Obviously a lot of the "scenes" are full of tongue in cheek, sarcastic, and
irreverent humor, but either fortunately or unfortunately that's pretty much how
Tyler and I are. Obviously things have a comedic bent to them, but that's the
type of sense of humor that comes naturally to Tyler and I, and that we throw
around everyday, for better or worse.

3) Reading from a script - Again, I guess I'll take this as
a compliment. This one actually has kind of a funny story to it. During the
brainstorming session, we did actually have some stories and scenarios that we
received from a couple of places that had all these crazy storylines, sub plots,
etc. Although creative, we both thought that all of that stuff was too
premeditated, and we'd be much better off just taking people along with us as we
tried to launch the product. We laid out a phrase for each day for a couple
weeks that would give a general direction, but other than that everything was
developed "on location."
In fact, we didn't even discuss what we were going
to film until about 3 minutes before we shot it.

The bios are obviously an attempt to be humorous, but the info
there is true. Believe it or not, Tyler and I are just a couple of guys who work
in Brand Management at Kraft, who wanted to build some awareness about a new
product. Honest.

-Adam

Glenview, IL. Tyler and I have returned home to the cozy confines of our little
(really, really little) cubes to mountains of paperwork, terabytes of email, and
3 high school mixed tapes of voicemail. I think Tyler's tape even had that song
that was on every sweet high school mixed tape, "More Than Words" by Extreme. I
got the break-up tape, so it was "It's So Hard To Say Goodbye" by Boys to Men.
Also, let's not underestimate the power of simply naming your band "Extreme" in
the first place, I mean that's worth 2-3 sold out concerts in and of itself. I
digress...

We're back, and although tiring, the trip was a smashing success.
We had our debut on national television, interviews on multiple national radio
shows, attempted surfing in our tuxedos, "re-enacted" the Paul Revere jaunt, and
spoke with a ton of fantastic people that are really passionate about
PHILADELPHIA Cream Cheese. People continue to visit the site and email us, and
we've been able to get the message out about 1/3 Less Fat. People at Kraft have
been really supportive of the whole adventure, and we were even featured in an
article on the internal Kraft homepage exposed to every Kraft employee.

the various PR we've received from Breakfast From Heaven! Seriously, a huge
thank you thus far for all of your support.

The trip is done, but we'll be here for another week, and each day

questions that people have posed. We apologize for not being able to be that
responsive over the past couple weeks, but we were pretty strapped for time on
our adventure. This week we’re going to respond to many of the issues that we’ve
heard come up over the last few weeks. Particularly we’ll talk about the “real
Adam and Tyler” - we’re not actors..., we’ll explain what’s new about the 1/3
less fat that we’ve been promoted – we promise, it’s really new, we’ll talk
about what a blog has to do with selling Cream Cheese, and finally we’ll let you
know what’s on the agenda next – and we’ll address the question of whether

Our (Well Tyler’s) day in Vegas

So just in
case you were wondering there is a method to the madness here. We put Vegas at
the end of our trip for a reason. What better place to blow off some steam and
end this huge promotion on a high note? Of course it had to be Las Vegas. We
could barely contain our excitement as the time drew closer--so much to do in
Vegas and you can actually get away with all of it! What we didn't plan for was
another interview opportunity coming through and bumping us off of our original
flight plan. A great opportunity came up with CRN Network Radio that we
just couldn't pass up. So Adam and I quickly changed our plans to take a later
flight out of Boston but then the weather became a problem. To make a long
story short (too late I know) Adam had to take a flight back to Chicago and I
had to take a 9pm flight out of Boston to Las Vegas. I had a sleepy set of
passengers that were power napping for their weekend in Vegas so no interviews.
I did have a great time with the flight crew, however, none of them had served
the Breakfast From Heaven kits on any flights yet so the only thing we could
talk about was Hungary (Rita, one of the attendants is from there) and women's
college volleyball. Unfortunately, I then had to take an early flight out of
Vegas so I was only on the ground for 8 hours. What might have been . .

Our day in Boston

THE GIANTS ARE COMING!! THE
GIANTS ARE COMING!!! A little play on words there for the warm and patriotic
citizens of Boston--just Josh'n with ya--no hard feelings. Was tough leaving
the sun and surf of Ft. Lauderdale but duty called. Boston's temperature was
slightly (like half) less than Florida but equally enjoyable because we had a
truly patriotic duty to fulfill. You asked for us to reenact Paul Revere's
historic ride--you know the story--"One if by land, two if by sea"--and all
that, so that's what you got. Neither of us were exactly sure on the specifics
of how this ride actually unfolded, but like any good historian we didn't let
facts get in the way of the truth. We set off for Paul Revere's old home in the
North End of Boston and got geared up. We didn't have any horses and couldn't
find a lantern anywhere but we're pretty sure we captured the spirit of the
ride. Just the looks on the faces of the locals (horror, shame, anguish, etc)
was proof enough we had been successful.

Adam's
camera work during the filming of the reenactment is by far his best work to
date. There's an award out there with his name on it. In all seriousness
though (we can be serious sometimes) after our filming session came to an end we
were able to spend some time enjoying the sights and sounds of Boston--a truly
beautiful town with an overwhelming collection of our nation's history. I
always feel lucky each time I get to visit. Hopefully after this the good
people of Boston will still let us visit from time to time.

-Tyler

Ft. Lauderdale To Boston

Day 4. Wow. Day 4. What can a guy say about Day 4? Tyler and
I keep joking that it's beginning to feel like we're part of a band on tour (a
really bad band) with the crazy number of flights, the different hotels each
night, the jam-packed schedule, the TV and Radio interviews on Fox and NPR
(cough...shameless plug, cough...) etc. The only difference is that we don't
play any music, we don't have any money, and we don't have any fans. Okay, 1 or
2 fans, but you know who's counting?

The good news is that our flight from Fort
Lauderdale to Boston
was incredible, and I'll start off with the fact that the flight attendants were
an absolute blast to hang out with. Actually, all of the JetBlue staff members
have been top notch, and they deserve a shout out here (shout). The two flight
attendants we spoke with (you know who you are) started off by telling Tyler
and I that they were looking for husbands, but more on that later. More
importantly people were so fired up about the 1/3 Less Fat PHILLY that they
were stealing additional Breakfast from Heaven boxes to get more action. We got
some dirt on Boston, like apparently Bostonians are big drinkers, the Patriots
played like high school kids in the Super Bowl (from a Bostonian, not our
opinion here), and cream cheese and spinach make an excellent filling for a
delicious ravioli dish. Better yet, we found out that the key to weight loss is
eradicating sugar and white flour from your diet, never eating after 6pm, and
staying active. All of this ended with a big group hug between myself, the
flight attendants, and our friend from Boston (Worcester actually).

Anyway, about the flight attendants looking for
husbands...If you’re interested, you can visit either of the two you saw on
video at <st1:address w:st="on"><st1:street w:st="on">82404 W. Blazer Street,
Apt 4A</st1:street>, Hollywood, CA</st1:address>. Just kidding, that's not a real
address. Enjoy

5 Cities … 15 Gems of Information

When we were drumming up the idea for “Breakfast from
Heaven”, we had to decide where to spread the news about 1/3 Less Fat Philly
first. Finally, we chose 5 cities: Chicago, New York, Boston, Ft. Lauderdale,
and Vegas. On our journey, we found out some quirky and interesting information
about each city. Enjoy this food for thought.

Working Fort Lauderdale

"I caught my first tube
today... Sir"
-Johnny Utah, Point Break

Goodness
Gracious, Fort Lauderdale was a learning experience. While the weather in New
York was fairly mild for this time of year, the blast of humidity and the smell
of sun block stepping out of Fort Lauderdale airport was a welcome change. The
plane ride from New York to Fort Lauderdale was much better than we thought it
was going to be, so we were in top spirits by the time we landed. We made our
way to the hotel and saddled up to something called the internet to find out
what ridiculous activity people voted for us to do in this respectable beach
community. Surely people would not be interested in watching a couple of
gentlemen like Tyler and I do anything that could in any way harm our white
tuxedo gear. Surely people would be able to guess that our combined "beach
skill" would be about as high as the Chicago Bears chances of winning the Super
Bowl next year. Surely...forget it. You voted for us to go Tuxedo Surfing, so
Tuxedo Surfing it was.

People might
deduce that I carry around my surfboard with me at all times (from the cut
surfer abs, the bronze skin tone, and the frosted tips), but no, you would be
incorrect. We only had a couple of hours before it got dark, so Tyler and I found
the closest professional surf shop within walking distance. It was called
Walgreens, and apparently they won't be supplying the 2008 ISA World Surfing
Competition with boards this year. Anyway, we picked up the materials we thought
we would need (cabana hats, Brad Pitt wrap around sunglasses, and the closest
thing we could find to a surfboard), and headed out to the break. Despite many
long minutes of practicing the "pop" necessary to master a wave, I'm not sure
either of us picked up the skills necessary to correctly shred. As Tyler put it,
I "looked like a wounded flounder", and he looked more out of his element than a
pro arm-wrestler trying out for "The Nutcracker" on ice. Anyway, despite
hilariously small waves, we got tossed around pretty badly and spent the next
couple hours recovering before our flight to Boston. Check it out

- Adam
