Bake Cookies in Your Car
Posted on 25 June 2008 by joy
Apparently it gets hot enough in New Hampshire- hot enough to bake cookies in you car! Sound crazy? Of course it does, but that hasn’t stopped Sandi Fontaine from baking cookies on the dashboard of her small Rav-4.
Over three years ago, Sandi found herself in a bind. She needed to run errands and bake cookies at the same time. She discovered that as the temperatures reached 95 degrees outside, her car became a toasty 200 degrees. Apparently, the 200 degree interior is just enough to slow back some delicious chocolate chip cookies.
Of course, you wouldn’t want to find yourself in the same car as baking chocolate chip cookies, so don’t rush out the dry cleaners with cookie dough on your dash.
Sandi usually bakes her car cookies while she’s at work, which is, no doubt air conditioned.
So here’s what you do- Park your car in a sunny spot. Keep all the windows up, preheating your car to 200 degrees. Pop some chocolate chip cookie dough on the dash and get cooking. How long does this take? Probably close to an hour. But just imagine, you’ll never have to buy car air freshener again!
