Change is not coming people, it’s here! After Barrack Obama’s landslide win, I remembered thinking how Hollywood was ahead of the curve on this one, and produced some decent black presidents in the past. Maybe it was Hollywood that allowed this smooth transition of epic and historic proportions. This is why, I am paying homage to some of the top black presidents to ever be onscreen. If you know of any more, let me know!

I don’t know if you all remember Tom Beck, from Deep Impact, better known as Morgan Freeman to you and me., but he was one of the first, ‘diplomatic” black presidents I saw on the big-screen, and he made it look good. He was later promoted to play God in Bruce Almighty.

Next up we have Debo better known as Tommy “Tiny” Lister, as President Lindberg on Fifth Element. He was actually one of my favorites, because he was tough, funny, and came out in Friday.

We also have, Mays Gilliam, played by the one and only Chris Rock, one of the more animated black Presidents on film. (Bernie Mac plays his brother Mitch Gilliam). I recommend this movie for its hilariousness, but maybe not the best portrayal.

One of my favorites, in both look, attitude, and prestige is Duane Elizondo Camacho, played by Terry Crews ,from Idiocracy. This guy is hilarious in everything he does, especially a gun-ho president!

The Man also had a decent black president with Douglas Dilman, who was James Earl Jones himself! Probably one of the most noted black actors, and one with the most prestigious voices too.

Lastly we have David Palmer, played by Dennis Haysbert on 24. When it comes to presidents, you need to know you’re covered. At least that’s Allstate’s stand. Are you in good hands?

Looks like we have an actual black president now, thanks to these pioneers who helped pave the road for Barack Obama’s success. The new black president has some mighty big shoes to fill, let’s hope he is up to the task with a combination of all these presidential brothas. Solid.

Yeah Andy, you’re right, but seeing as I couldn’t think of anything funny to say, and he’s been in a coma for most of his “presidency” I just reverted to his brother ;) Good eyes though!

You forgot Wayne Palmer. 2 black 24 presidents.
