Thanksgiving Appetizers – Old Classics, New Traditions
Posted on 24 November 2009 by Andrea
This Thanksgiving, I’m definitely giving thanks for my kids. They make our house a home. I love their constant giggling, their holiday “art” projects that look less like a turkey and more like a rock with feathers glued on, and everything else about them.
All that said, I’m absolutely ready for a holiday meal that suits the adults at our table. What better place to start than with easy appetizer and side dish recipes from Safeway?
Out with pigs-in-a-blanket and in with Bacon Wrapped Dates. Goodbye to soggy microwaved veggies and hello to Garlic and Rosemary Green Beans.
No more boring boxed stuffing. Bring on the Sausage and Cornbread Dressing. Forget canned yams, and go for quick and easy Whipped Sweet Potatoes with Marshmallow Crust.
What makes Safeway’s side dishes and appetizer recipes so…well…appetizing, is that they have just enough of a twist to please my foodie guests, and enough classic appeal to keep Grandpa and Grandma happy.
Plus, everything’s easy to make – a big bonus during a hectic time. And of course it’s all so delicious that I wouldn’t be surprised if my mac-n-cheese squad begs for seconds.
Between their great recipes, festive holiday decorating ideas and exclusive 2-Hour Turkey, I’ve got one new holiday tradition: Always start at Safeway.
