If you’re into fast paced and realistic cop drama, then you’ve probably heard, and maybe even watched, the great series known as Southland. Just when you were getting into it, the corporate network moguls pulled the show off the network out of nowhere. Luckily for all of us, the show has been picked up by TNT and is coming back on Tuesday March 2nd. If you’ve never watched the show, you might be wondering what it’s about.

One thing that I really like about this show, is that it keeps things real. It’s rude, crude, and has gripping story lines that grab you by the throat, and it jerks you to the edge of your seat. I haven’t seen anything like this since the movie “Colors“ back in 1988. You don’t believe me? Why not check out the sneak peek for yourself?

Baking with Kids

Activities that create life-long lessons are great for creating memories, especially for kids. Baking with kids is a brilliant way to teach, share and connect. Whether it was just measuring ingredients, stirring batter, watching the oven, or (my all-time favorite) being the taste-tester, I always enjoyed helping my mom in the kitchen.

In addition to making tasty goodies, baking is a great way to apply mathematics in real-world scenarios. Fractions, measuring, converting, dividing–they’re all a part of baking! Not only that, but baking also helps develop patience and precision, improves reading comprehension and vocabulary, promotes scientific curiosity, and–last but not least– teaches kids to organize and follow through. And at the end of it all, they’ll have a tasty treat to enjoy!

Start off baking projects with proper and positive expectations. Remember to periodically praise kids when they finish a task. After all, it is a learning experience and we want to reward them for a job well done! Depending on age and the appropriate occasion, children of all ages can help from decorating, to operating blenders and other electric equipment with caution.

Safety first! Without making children feel anxious or afraid, go over the basic safety precautions around the kitchen. Beginners in the kitchen should stay clear from sharp knives and burners. Other safety elements that need to be mentioned are slips and falls and basic hygiene.

Some of the best advice for a lot of parents, besides safety, is how to minimize mess! Here are a few tips to keep the mess to a minimum, which include cleaning as you go, and laying down newspapers to avoid sticky countertops.

Teaching, sharing and connecting over baking projects is a great way to create fond memories that your children will be forever thankful for. Kids do grow up too fast to let these opportunities pass you by!

Sacha Baron Cohen gets his A-List Buddies to Make His Movie Soundtrack

Sasha Baron Cohen’s Bruno just got a NC-17 rating, which pretty much would kill his movie, so he has to go make some more edits, but I think he’s trying to balance that out by getting some of the hottest musical talents out there in his arsenal.

According to Hollywood.com:

Comedian Sacha Baron Cohen has enlisted the help of superstar pals Bono and Chris Martin to record a song to accompany his racy new film Bruno — which mocks their Band Aid charity efforts.

FBI is Certain That 19-Year-old Hacked Miley Cyrus

The Hannah Montana star, Miley Cyrus, was hacked not too long ago, and a lot of her steamier and sexy pics were leaked out onto the internet. The FBI is almost certain that they have the culprit, but need to build a stronger case.

19-year-old Josh Holly, was raided by the FBI in his Tennessee home in October. The FBI seized his equipment, but hasn’t charged him with anything, because they can’t prove it…yet.

Kids Choice Award Winners Highlights and of Course the Green Stuff

Saturday night was one of the biggest nights of the year for the younger teeny-bop celebs, thanks to the Kid’s Choice Awards. There were thrill, spills, and some gave me the chills, but it sure did make for one awesome night!

Among the biggest winners were Miley Cyrus and the Jonas Bros were among the biggest winners (of course) but there were also a lot of surprising winners as well. Leonardo DiCaprio surprised me the most, mainly because I didn’t think he was still considered an appealing actor to kids, but hey, the more the merrier!

My favorite highlights were Will Ferrel throwing himself down the slime slip-n-slide, Jesse McCartney getting slimed.

O’Reilly Boycotting Sean Penn for Being a Liberal

Bill O’Reilly has never been one to stay quiet… ever! That’s why it’s no surprise to me that he made it very public that he will be boycotting all of Sean Penn’s movies because of Sean Penn’s political views.

It’s one thing to boycott someone for moral reasons, or if they’re shady individuals, but mixing one’s political views with their work is a completely different thing to me. As long as they are not openly and actively promoting these views in their movies, then who cares? I’d like to think that people have enough sense and reason to make up their own minds as far as their political views.

Here’s O’Reilly said to defend himself:

“I’m just not going to give a guy who gives aid and comfort to people like (Iran president Mahmoud) Ahmadinejad, Hugo Chavez and Saddam Hussein, when he was alive, my 10 bucks. That’s my right as an American.”

In O’Reilly’s defense, Sean Penn has said some things to mark a big red target on his back, but still, O’Reilly has his rights, and so does Penn.

Acting Fail: Actress Loses “Twilight” Role to Model

That’s has to be a slap in the face for actress AnnaLynne McCord, you may not recognize the name. Well you might not even recognize the face, but she’s on 90210. Well, she lost the role to an even lesser known name, but a more recognizable face. This better looking face is attached to Canadian Supermodel Noot Seear. (In my opinion though, McCord is way cuter!)

Well Noot does look more vampire-like, and has a vampire sounding name. I almost feel bad for McCord because she actually “acts” for a living. Do you think she should have lost the role to someone who’s never really done much acting?

‘One Tree Hill’s’ Murray Written out of the Show!

One Tree Hill’s Chad Michael Murray posted a random video on Youtube, probably out of anger, complaining about how he was written out of his own show by the execs.

I don’t know what to make of it, since he’s the star and his girl just got news that she’s going to have a baby, which might kill her if she decides to give birth, and now he’s going away? What do you think?
