Brown Sugar Body Scrub
1/2 cup ground almonds
1/2 cup ground oatmeal
1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
1/4 cup almond oil
1 tsp. vanilla extract
Small containers with lids

Combine all ingredients using a spatula in a large bowl until well blended. The mix should have a paste like texture. If it is too dry add more oil a few drops of oil at a time. Conversely, if it is too oily add more dry ingredients until you reach the desired consistency. Store in jars for up to 2 weeks in refrigerator. May need to mix before use if ingredients settle.

If you’re afraid of getting skin cancer from the suns harmful UV Rays, well fear no more! There has been a new drug developed that stimulates the body’s tanning response. The tan lasts for 2 months. Sounds too good to be true right?

Well, usually you hear a “It’s Not!” but this thing is looking legit so far. The actual product is a man-made hormone called afamelanotide, which received the A-OK from the U.S. Government to begin the clinical trials. I’m sure that’s where we’ll find any side effects, or increase in DEATH! That’s not official, but you never know. British health officials are sating to stay away from it until complete trials assess the side-effects or long term harm because there are already some products like it on the black market.

So what does it do? According to Colin Mackie, the director of business development for Clinuvel, the company bringing the drug to the U.S.,

It’s a bioabsorbable implant that you just inject into the skin. It stimulates melanin production.

Melanin is the body’s natural pigment. It’s responsible for the color of skin and protects humans from harmful solar radiation. The drug will be tested as a treatment for patients who face serious danger from the sun’s rays, like those with rare genetic diseases or who must take immunosuppressants.

Cosmetics company Purple Lab has decided to pair up lip gloss and diet pills. A product like this is not new to the market, Fuze tried diet lip gloss but it tasted funny and didn’t really curb your appetite.

However, Purple Lap’s Huge Lips, Skinny Hips claims do to what Fuze did not.

The Sacramento Business Journal reported that Macy’s, and other departments stores, will be giving away cosmetics, skin care products, and perfumes starting January 20, 2009 as part of a settlement that involved fixed pricing on beauty products. The giveaway;

stems from a February 2004 class action settlement filed on behalf of consumers who purchased cosmetics between May 1994 and July 2003, according to a the settlement’s Web site (cosmeticssettlement.com). Nordstrom, Nieman Marcus, Dillard’s, Saks Fifth Avenue and Target also were named on the suit. The retailers have claimed no wrong doing.

As part of the settlement, $175 million in cosmetics will be given away, one per person in a first-come, first serve basis. Consumers will be able to choose one item per person while supplies last. Brands include Estée Lauder, Clinique, Lancome, Clarins, Guerlain, Givenchy, Chanel, Boucheron, Cody, Calvin Klein, L’Oréal and Christian Dior.

The products include mascara, skin care, moisturizers and fragrances, said Macy’s spokeswoman Sharon Bateman. “None of the product comes from the store’s regular inventory,” she said. “I think these products were created specifically for this give-away.”

The offer will last until the products run out and you better believe that this product junkie will be trying to get her hands on something awesome. I just hope when I arrive, they aren’t offering random junk that not even I would accept.

I have never been into tattoos because I am the most indecisive person, and I know whatever I ended up liking one day, I would detest it the next! However, this black light tattooing trend has me totally interested! The tattoos look really, really cool and better yet, if you don’t want somebody to see it they don’t! Black light tattoos are becoming the biggest trend and it is not hard to understand why. You are able to hide the tattoo if needed, for work or family, and its supposed to be safer than normal ink for your skin. Black light tattoos are more expensive and take longer but the effect is really neat looking.

Alright, I think I have totally had enough of Heidi and Spencer or Speidi as the media likes to call them. I have no idea how these two pulled there 15 minutes of fame into 2 years+!?

Yesterday, as usual the two “love-birds” were seen walking down busy and paparazzi filled Robertson for their usual daily photo op, when i noticed something horrible on Heidi’s nails! At first, I thought she had digressed to being a third grader who glues rhinestones to their nails but oh no! This was WAY worse…she actually had the Chanel emblems placed on each of her nails and then a rhinestone placed in the middle where the C’s met.

I get it Heidi, you like expensive things, I can see your diamonds and jewelry and your Chanel or Balenciaga bag on your arm! But what I don’t get is how somebody who clearly likes couture designers, always leave the house uber cheap!? Her outfits are super tacky!
