Cell Processor upgrading to 45nm in 2009 could lead to PS3 Price Cuts

Sony and Toshiba have revealed they will start production of a smaller 45nm Cell processor in 2009.
The 45nm version of the chip used in the PlayStation 3 will cost less than the current 65nm model, as well as being more efficient, requiring 40% less power.
The drop in cost of the PS3 processor might lead to price cuts for the PS3 assuming Sony upgrades to the new chip.
