If you're anything like me, you think going to the dentist is as much fun as stubbing your toe... twice.  You'd probably avoid it completely if you could.  But if you want a gorgeous, bright smile, the dentist is just one of those things you have to endure.  Luckily stubbed toes are sometimes avoidable.
Here are 10 great, natural ways to take care of your teeth. You can do them at home, without your dentist's fingers in your mouth.  And some of the tips even involve eating things like cheese and chocolate.  Cheese and chocolate to keep away the lengthy dentist visits!  Sounds like a dream, right?

Floss First- Remove all the gunk between your teeth by flossing, them brush it all away with your tooth brush!
Brush Your Mouth-  I know it sounds strange, and not at all sexy, but bacteria in your mouth grows on your tongue and on the roof of your mouth.  Get rid of that nasty bacteria by brushing your tongue and the roof of your mouth along with your teeth and gums.
Try Some Tea-  Rinsing with black tea after you brush can help fight against the formation of plaque, and can help reduce the acids that cause tooth decay.  Cool!  But if you're worried about the stains that black tea may leave on your teeth, try rinsing with green tea instead!
Chew Sugarless Gum-  Chewing sugarless gum for 20 minutes after eating helps stimulate saliva in your mouth which helps fight against bacteria.  Plus, you also get that minty fresh feeling!
Brush for a Song-  Turn on your iPod and jam out for the length of one song while brushing your teeth.  A good two or three minutes with a tooth brush in your mouth will help insure that you do a thorough job.

Vitamin C to the Rescue- Believe it or not, 1,000mg of vitamin C per day helps kill the types of bacteria that cause gingivitis.
Wait for 30 Minutes-  Wait for 30 minutes after eating citrus fruit or drinks before brushing.  This sounds strange, but citric acid temporarily weakens teeth, and brushing right away can lead to tooth erosion, and nobody likes that!
Eat Crunchy Foods-  Eating crunchy vegetables can help wipe away the plaque and stimulate the gums.  I don't think the same can be said for crunchy candy bars, so stay away from those!
Eat Raisins-  Compounds found in raisins called phytochemicals help fight bacteria in the mouth that cause cavities and gingivitis.
Snack on Cheese or Chocolate-  Cheddar, mozzarella, Swiss and American have been shown to reduce bacteria in the mouth when eaten after a meal.  Also indulge in dark chocolate!  The fats in dark chocolate may reduce the damage done to the teeth by sugars.
