The Perfect Cup of Iced Coffee

Forget name brand coffee joints.  You can make the perfect cup of iced coffee right at home!  No standing in line behind the lady whose coffee order is as long as a Hamlet soliloquy.  Now nothing will stand in the way of you and that iced cup of joe.

How To Make the Perfect Cup of Iced Coffee

1.  Make Strong Coffee

Make a pot of strong coffee.  Use a ratio of 1:1- scoops of coffee grounds per cups of water.  Melting ice will weaken the coffee, so strong coffee is what you want!

2.  Add Sugar

While the coffee is hot, stir in your sugar or sweetener.  Try a little less than 1 teaspoon of sugar per cup of coffee.  That'll give you a lightly sweetened drink.

Chill Coffee

This is the part where you excersize some patience.  Put the coffee in the fridge overnight.  It needs to be cold.  Don't be tempted to simply add ice cubes to your fresh coffee.  Pouring hot coffee over ice is a tragedy in the coffee drinking world.

4. Pour Over Ice

Fill a tall glass with ice.  Lots of ice is important.  Pour coffe over ice and add cream if you'd like.  It's not rocket science.  Enjoy!

I am so thankful I stumbled onto this entry ... If I spend one more dime on a cup of iced coffee from starbucks (tm) I'll be a broke woman by the time I'm thirty. Thank you for the helpful hints. By the way, the picture looks INCREDIBLE.
