Citizen Cake is a tasty and trendy restaurant in the Hayes Valley neighborhood of San Francisco.  They serve, among other delicious things, donut balls-  yes, warm donut balls wtih a raspberry jam and sugar glaze dipping sauce!  Believe me when I say the donut balls are reason enough to make the trip to Citizen Cake!

Citizen Cake is a full service restaurant and bar that serves creative and seasonal dishes and really unique cocktails.  Go for burnch and try a Ramos Fizz.  I couldn't tell you exactly what they do to make this drink magic, but it comes out with a hint of cream, a hint of fizz and tiny specks of vanilla bean.  Yum!

Chef Elizabeth Faulkner has created a really special place with Citizen Cake.  There's a surprise ingredient in every dish.  The cakes and cupcakes from the neighboring patisserie are outta sight, and the staff is friendly and fun.

If you can't make it to San Francisco to treat yourself to dinner at Citizen Cake, you can bring Citizen Cake to you!  With Elizabeth Faulkner's cookbook Demolition Desserts you can create some of the restaurants signature desserts at home.  Sweet!
