If you're anything like me, you love to get outdoors and enjoy the summer months.  From frolicking in the surf to an intense morning hike, there's something about summer that just calls to me.  But the blazing sun, mountain trails and BBQs galore can take it's toll.  Here are 4 natural remedies to ease some possible summer ailments.

Sunburn Sympathy

Aloe is hands down the best soother of those nasty sunburns.  It's packed with amino acids and has anti-inflammatory effects that can tame the redness.  Pick up a plant at the local nursery and break off a piece if a sunburn strikes.  Of course you could always just pick up a bottle of 95-100% aloe vera gel and that would do the trick too!

Rid Yourself of Summer Sniffles

What's worse than a summer cold?  Try using eucalyptus to break up the congestions that comes along with a summer cold.  Fill a bowl with steamy hot water and add one drop of eucalyptus essential oil.  If you have a eucalyptus tree, you could always just pick some leaves, crush them in your hand and add them to the water.  Cover your head with at towel and breath deeply (keeping your eyes closed) for 1 minute.
