Because You Have Too Much Free Time

| | Comments (0)
xmas_set3.jpg Cute Los Angeles boutiques are full of little trinkets that I always think  I could make myself- if I were having a Martha Stewart moment.  Take these darling bubble magnets for example- they come in precious designs and colors.  A unique and fun gift, right?  Well, if you have a bit of free time while you're watching reruns of Law and Order (I do that too), you can throw these little magnets together yourself.  Let Not Martha show you how.  Imagine the ways that you could customize the color and print for different occasions.  Oh the possibilities are endless.  What are you waiting for?  Grab some silicone glue and little round magnets and get going.

Festive Drink Umbrellas

umbrellas.jpgWould you ever dream of making your own drink umbrellas for your next summer party?  Well, leave it to Marth Stewart to think of everything!  These drink umbrellas are super easy to make.  You could throw them together while watching that Rock of Love marathon on VH1.  All you need is a soup can, origami paper, glue and skewers.  You can get as creative as you like.  Thank Martha for the simple directions, and enjoy your party!

The Perfect Party Favor

cookie sleeve.jpgYet another fabulous idea from Martha Stewart. She packaged large cookies in paper CD envelopes so you can see the cookie through the cellophane circle. Buy some New Year's stickers to close them up and they make really cute take home treats for your guests or hand them out at midnight. Click here for how-to info.

I stumbled Etsy.com about 2 years ago and have bought many things from this site. Etsy is a ebay-esque treasure trove of hand-made items. From original fridge magnets to hand-made beauty products to one of a kind clothing.  You will find something truly unique for any one on your Christmas list.

Print your Own Wrapping Paper

giftwrap.jpgBluePrint has designed some free Victorian looking gift wrap thats down-loadable from MarthaStewart.com Just Print them on 11x17 sheets of paper and you should be able to wrap any small gift. Add satin ribbon and vintage name tags for full affect. I personally like hand-made things as gifts and the wrapping is a gift in-itself.

Velvet Boxing Gloves Are A Knockout

velvetboxingglove.jpgNow you can bust somebody's chops with style. Pair these up with pure silk shorts and you will be runway ready. These are really nice, the embroidery is Swedish folklore. At first glance I thought they were oven mits. Might come in handy if you are having a domestic disturbance.

[hello craft lovers]
congrats champagne flutes.jpg
Nothing says celebrate like a great glass of Champagne ( or Martinelli's sparkling apple cider) ... am I right or am I right? My mom's friend embellishes martini glasses with glitter, rhinestones, feathers, puff paint etc. I thought why not try it with champagne glasses this year? It's a perfect gift to give any girlie girl you know. They are also fun party gifts and your guests will never lose their personalized glass during the party. Click the link below for a list of what you'll need.

Glitter Birds

| | Comments (0)
glitterbird.jpgOver at Martha Stewart they post a craft a day. Today they posted these little birds. I thought these little birds were too cute. Easy to make as well, just pre-made birds that you paint glitter onto. They show them as a center piece on a branch but I think they would look great as an ornament on a Christmas tree.
