black-exercise Does The South Beach Diet Work?Hey guys and gals. It’s been a little over two weeks since my original post and I’m glad to report that I am actually 5 lbs lighter. While I have not had the dramatic weight loss promised, by the book, within the first two weeks, I am just happy to be on the road back to my formally slender self. This week I will be veering slightly from the diet to partake in birthday festivities for my friend and co-worker. To make up for this, I will be watching my caloric intake and making sure it doesn’t exceed 1400 calories a day, and no less than 1200.

I’m also starting to get moving, again. While I used to be an avid runner, I somehow let that fall by the wayside and have become increasingly inactive. Of course that contributed to my sudden weight gain. It is definitely hard to get back to sweating away the pounds, but I am making sure I get in some exercise at least 3 days a week. I either go power walking in the evening, at the park by my house for about an hour, or hit play on my laptop and do 30 grueling minutes of Pilates. My main goal is to just be active.
