Don’t Cry, It’s Just Milk

Alright folks, we’re having issues. All of a sudden, after 27 years of learning how to pour milk from a certain shape jug, I’ve got to learn a new way. I’m an old dog by now. You really expect me to successfully tackle this beast?
What’s happened? In the name of efficiency, retail giants WalMart and Cosco have reshaped their milk containers. The new jugs are square and made of recycled plastic. The New York Times reports that the jugs are less expensive because they’re easier to ship. They stack, you see, and eliminate the need for milk crates. Since they’re more stackable, they can pack more jugs into the milk truck. Genius, right?
Well, there is a downside. It’s taking consumers time to get used to the new jugs. They’re having trouble pouring the milk without spilling it everywhere. There’s no spout. We’ve entered a whole new era of cereal eating.
Not to fear. Sam’s Club is offering in store classes on how to pour milk from the new jugs. You think I’m pulling your leg. I couldn’t make this stuff up if I tried.

I heard about the new square milk jugs about a year or so before I started seeing them on shelves. When I saw them, they were advertised with a lot of accessories that made the more useable and re-useable like a twist on pour spout and an autovalve cooler (it looked like a mini-water cooler) you just open the milk and flip it upside down onto the cooler then use the pour valve to get the milk. *Less Spills, Less Lifting, Less mess* But the problem with it is I see the jugs but where are the accessories?!?!?
