Duke Nukem Forever: Actually Going to Happen!
Posted on 30 April 2008 by Erik
Over a decade since Duke Nukem Forever went into development, and subsequently going through an unbelievable amount of setbacks, we now have confirmed gameplay. A half hour demo that showed the fruits of the long and tedious labor, leaving many media members surprisingly impressed.
From what was gathered at the demo the game’s many claims over the last decade have been fulfilled. Great environmental puzzles, a slew of awesome weapons, interactivity, operational heavy machinery and plenty of appendage explosions.
The game has gone through several rewrites, issues with production companies and a slew of other problems prolonging the game’s development into unimaginable delays, the likes of which have never been seen before. The game had been a running joke over the last several years to describe a game that would seemingly close in on a release date, only to inevitably be pushed back time and time again. The release date stated on Duke Nukem Forever’s Wikipedia page simply states ‘when it’s done.’
The game was originally a PC only game but now looks to be developed
for the Xbox 360 and PS3 as well. Here’s a look at the teaser video
released last December if you want to catch up.
