dwtsjudges-425x239 DWTS Updates and Scores for 10-27-08

I’ve been watching this season of DWTS from the beginning, and I have to say, after seeing the Hip Hop Group section, I can easily see who’s got it going on, and who’s got to go. I won’t flat out say it, but I will subtly hint… The stand in Judge in Len’s place, was the Lord of the Dance himself, Michael Flatley.

There is one thing I have to say fist and foremost, I love Cloris Leachman. She brings the show alive, and although she isn’t as flashy as other dancers, she always busts out a move that you have to realize, most 82-year-old women can NOT do!

Having said that, Carrie Ann made a good point, Toni Braxton rocked, and she had to leave “for this [Cloris].” It’s a fine line, because I love Cloris, and so does America, and a lot of this show is about entertaining, which she does. I’m sure 40 years ago, Cloris would be mopping the floor with the competition, but the reality is that she is not 42 but 82, so her dancing is barely even up to regulation, and I feel she may be the next to go after suffering harsh criticism and getting straight 5s.

Maurice Greene and Cheryl Burke did a Viennese Waltz. It was kind of bland for my taste, but Greene was able to get into character, and he even shaved that nasty moustache! One of the things that I’ve noticed, and Carrie Ann finally voiced, is that they are great dancers individually, but there is no chemistry between them, which hurts them in this competition. They were able to get the blackjack 21 this round.

Julianne Hough and Cody Linley did a great job with a Brazilian Samba which got them a solid 23 score. Carrie Ann even said it was the hottest Samba she had ever seen. Unfortunately, Bruno thought that Cody missed the mark because he wasn’t his true energetic self.

Lance Bass and Lacey Schwimmer were able to pull of a very precise and energetic Jive. Bruno even exclaimed that the Lance is back on target! They were really good and very entertaining. They scored a solid straight 9s for a 27.

Susan Lucci, who is slowly disappointing me as her dances progress because she has little passion, actually made me laugh really hard during her Mambo with Tony Dovolani. She even did this roaring tiger thing at the end. I guess her antics got in the way of her timing because it was way off. It was still good enough to get her a 23 from the judges.

Brooke Burke and Derek Hough rocked an excellent Rumba despite Brooke’s injured foot. The Rumba is one of my least favorite dances because I like them fast and energetic, but I must admit that Brooke’s was incredible. So incredible that it got them the only 10 of the night! Their total was 26 (one point less than Lance’s)

Warren Sapp and Kim Johnson did a great job too. If it wasn’t for a lot of Sapp’s facial expressions, I’d pick him as a favorite. This guy is HUGE and can tip toe and shuffle like nobody’s business! Their Rumba was awesome to me because it had a storyline to it about struggling lovers, but that added drama must have distracted Warren because he made a mistake in the middle. He’s always great at getting into character, but technically, he was a little off. He was able to pull out a total of 25.

Quick Recap:

Lance & Lacey: 27

Brooke & Derek: 26

Warren & Kim: 25

Susan & Tony: 23

Cody & Julianne: 23

Maurice & Cheryl: 21

Cloris & Corky: 15
