Everybody’s a Critic- Even a Twelve Year Old
Posted on 19 November 2008 by joy
Everyone’s a food critic, even 12 year old David Fishman of New York City.
On a recent night, when his parents were out of town, young Fishman was told that he could go out and pick himself up some takeout for dinner. Instead of going down to the usual Middle Eastern spot, Fishman headed out to Salumeria Rosi, a very newly opened New York hot spot.
Despite a crowd of waiting diners, the restaurant made room for Fishman who had brought his notebook and a cleansed palate. See, the twelve year old is a bit of a foodie and aspires to be a restaurant critic. Taking notes during his solo meal, Fishman was even visited by the chef and owner. What a kid! He was even given a gift to enjoy later, just before his mom came to pick him up.
This kid’s got gusto. The most important thing about being a food critic is having others recognize you as their critic. It like David Fishman is on his way. Well done.
