Did you know that you can prepare for some of life’s most challenging or nerve racking moments by filling your tummy with the right foods?  Sure!  It only makes sense that what you put in your body affects your brain and body, carrying you through those tough job interviews or revving you up for that date with Mr. Right.

Here’s the skinny of foods that will help you through two tough situations:

Have an early morning job interview?  Sit down for a breakfast that will keep you alert and extra clever.  Go for Yerba Mate, the South American tea that will rev you up with caffeine and two other natural stimulants.  With one cup you’ll be wide awake for whatever tough question is thrown your way.  Back up your morning tea with pumpkin seeds, dried apricots and some plain low fat yogurt.  The pumpkin seeds are a great source of magnesium which keeps your metabolism and energy running smooth.  The dried apricots will boost you up with natural sugars, so you’re sure to be all smiles, and yogurt gives you the breakfast protein you need.  The B vitamins in yogurt help generate the energy in whatever carbs you had for breakfast too.  With this breakfast foods, you’re sure to shine!

Have a hot first date?  Before you run out the door, nibble of a few things to take the edge off your grumbling tummy and keep you gorgeous.  Reach for a square of dark chocolate, it relaxes blood vessels, holding any nerve racked blood pressure spikes in check.  A small bowl of brown rice  can also help relax the system, by stimulating the part of the brain that releases the calming compound serotonin.  You’ll be just as calm and relaxed as you are gorgeous.

Tomorrow-  the right foods to get you through that super expensive session with your personal trainer, and the right foods to perk you up for that special anniversary dinner.
