G4 calls New Xbox Experience launch rumor a fake

Kotaku reports that the Xbox 360 “relaunch” rumor–which includes promises of a 5-hour countdown special, a dozen game announcements and a whole lot of other stuff–has been called fake by the cable network involved in the rumor, G4.
“We currently do not have anything planned in conjunction with Microsoft for September 25,” the rep stated. “I can’t speak for Microsoft but can say we do not have anything planned.”
Perhaps they rumor-mongers confused G4 with Spike TV, or maybe it’s as fake as it sounds, we’ll keep you posted.
