Recent ESA statistics show that the U.S Video Game industry has grown at a faster pace than the U.S. Economy. The game industry growth shows as 17% from 2003-2006 as compared to the 4% economic growth during the same period. This is part of a large ESA survey called Video Games in the 21st Century. Michael Gallagher, ESA CEO, commented:
“Computer and video game companies play an ever increasing role in our
nation’s growing economy. These companies and their colleagues across the nation are making
entertainment software one of the fastest growing industries in the
United States.”
Interesting indeed. Check out Gamasutra for more details on the complete results.
