Guitar Hero: World Tour Songs Revealed, Guitar Detailed
Posted on 20 June 2008 by Erik
Activision has confirmed the rumored touch-sensitive guitar (Who. Called. It.) will accompany this fall’s release of Guitar Hero: World Tour.
Though the title will support all previous Guitar Hero guitars, the new wireless instrument adds a touch pad below the five standard fret buttons. IGN reports the pad lets players “mimic a slap bass” and tweak sustained notes.
The game is said to sport over 85 master tracks in all, but will not be compatible with downloadable content for Guitar Hero 3. Rival Harmonix has stated its desire to make future entries in the competing Rock Band series compatible with all of its DLC.
As of yet, it isn’t known if the instruments of World Tour will be cross-compatible with Rock Band and Rock Revolution or vice versa. (wouldn’t bank on it though)
Bands and tracks confirmed to appear in Guitar Hero World Tour are:
- Sublime - “Santeria”
- Billy Idol - “Rebel Yell”
- Foo Fighters - “Everlong”
- Linkin Park
- Van Halen
- The Eagles
The following artists and tracks are believed to be included due to leaks, Activision-issued media, or record label announcements.
- At the Drive-In - “One Armed Scissor
- Def Leppard
- Aerosmith
- Jimi Hendrix
- The Doors
- Smashing Pumpkins
- KoRn
- System of a Down
- Ozzy Osbourne
- Interpol
