Healthy Snacks for the Kids
Posted on 07 August 2008 by joy
Even though I don’t have kids, my over-sized purse is always stuffed with all sorts of snacks and quick bites. Much like a four year old, when I get hungry, there’s no reasoning with me. I need to eat, and eat at that very moment.
If you’ve got little ones, or a honey that gets the munchies, I’m sure you’re purse is already packed with all kinds of edibles. Here are some the of healthiest, kid friendly, ultra portable snacks. Perfect for those times when a temper tantrum at Target just won’t do.
Good Health Natural Foods Peanut Butter Pretzels
These little buddies are packed with carbs, fiber and protein. They’re the perfect post sport snack because they fill bellies and give add a kick of energy. Between the pretzel shell and the creamy peanut butter, this snack will satisfy that crunchy and salty craving too! (goodhealthnaturalproducts.com)
Funky Monkey Freeze-Dried Fruit
These freeze dried fruit bites are a gem. They have no added sweeteners or preservetives. They come in four different varieties. My two fvorite are the Bananamon, with banana and cinnamon, and Javalime, with pineapple and lime. (funkymonkeysnacks.com)
Santa Cruz Organic Apple-Blackberry Sauce
Applesauce gets a kick in the pants with organic blackberries. One little cup gives you all of the Vitamin C you need for the day! And I don’t care what you say, you can eat these little darling without a spoon, just get creative. (scojuice.com)
Whole Foods 365 Veggie Chips
Ignore the word “veggie” on this bag of chips and think of these as your new potato chip. They’ve got the salt and the crunch and are just at satisfying as their friend cousin. Promise. (wholefoodsmarket.com)
