Hot Chicks With Douchebags Sued

Michael Minelli is suing the publishing company Simon & Schuster for $10,000. He is suing them over his inclusion in the hysterical book “Hot Chicks With Douchebags” claiming that he has unfairly been labeled a “douchebag”. The Smoking Gun website reported that:
Michael Minelli, a 27-year-old club promoter, claims that the inclusion of his photograph in the book has subjected him to “hatred, contempt, and humiliation” and has resulted in “friends, acquaintances, coworkers, employees, and strangers alike” calling him a “douchebag.” As seen below, Minelli’s photo appears on page 202 of author Jay Louis’s book, which was published in July by Simon & Schuster. In the book, Louis noted that Minelli’s “popped-collar, spikey-haired presence was so far beyond regular douche, so far beyond uberdouche, he could spontaneously create a new element on the periodic tables–Douche Nine.”
In all honesty, you would never end up on a website like that in the first place if there wasn’t a valid reason. Maybe this guy should consider turning his collar down and laying off the sunless tanning spray for hrrm…like forever.

all the gweedo’s shown are inbred from jersey or the east coast. that is why they are all DB’s. but seriously, the book in question is considered “satire” and therefore is protected by freedom of speech. once the picture is taken in a public place it becomes public domain. so long as it is satire there isn’t anything a poor little inbred gweedo can do. if it is informational or newsworthy it can become slander or libel.

Douchebag is not a character defamation it’s the expression of a personnal opinion.
If you don’t want your picture to appear anywhere you cloister yourself into your home: in a public place you become public property.
I think I beautifully added myself to the douchebag crew with this.

i shed a tear hearing that people could sue because of being called a douchebag. have you not checked the mirror? your rep was ruined when you decided it was cool to look like a carrot and flap shadow puppets of a bird. everyone is entitled to an opinion. it doesn’t make it a fact. it is just an opinion. if you think it is cool to be a douchebag then ok but don’t get mad when you are called a douche nozzle.
if he wins the lawsuit i’m moving to another country.

I think that ZEE is actually Michael Minelli. You seem to be a little peeved ZEE that someone got made fun of. I say that if you don’t want to be called a douchebag just avoid certain behaviors and all of the other guys in the picture.

There’s no defamation of character, it’s a statement of opinion. And since it was in public, there is no assumption of or right to privacy.

at least they’re not morbidly obese and ugly – i’m sure most of the posters here are! not to mention unimaginative – only able to parrot douchebag one after another. can’t you americans think of another word? yes, he should win the lawsuit – it’s a defamation of character, using his image and likeness without permission – he should be awarded a compensation! i don’t see any reason why you lot should be so offensive!
