Is Will Smith Indispensable?

Despite the horrid reviews, Hancock is supposed to open big as it’s released on 3900 screens today.
Box office expert Paul Dergarabedian predicts the WIll Smith actioner could make around $75-$80 million from Friday-Sunday, and expects the film to clear $100 million by Sunday. However, other pundits are saying not so fast with these big numbers.
The would-be blockbuster has only a 33% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes, which makes all this speculation a little dicey. And it’s long-term prospects pretty bleak. Variety is even calling it the next Last Action Hero, the notorious 1990s bomb. Yikes!
I guess we’ll all find out this weekend. Good luck, Jason Bateman!

I saw Hancock on opening night and for what it’s worth it was’nt that bad. If you go in with the expectation of a mindless summer movie you wont be dissapointed. The story is a little far fetched and the ending is so-so. I will give it a 2.5 out of 5. There are a few laugh out loud points but they tend to be over used.

Hancock looks like interesting spin on the latest superhero movie craze… if nothing else at least Will Smith tends to be pretty funny
