Lauren Conrad—Reality Star, Fashion Designer… Author?

The 22 year-old star from The Hills, has signed a three-book deal with HarperCollins Publishers, to write a “behind-the-scenes style story of a young girl who moves to L.A. and unexpectedly becomes the star of a reality television show,” in her series aptly named L.A. Candy. Well I guess she’s no Joseph Conrad after all.
As far as Senior VP/Associated Publisher of Fiction, Elise Howard, is concerned, “We are bracing ourselves for a blockbuster publication.” Usually, books come before movies or shows, not the other way around. This may be a case of “the show was better than the book.” Time will tell. How many of you are actually looking to buy this when it comes out?
