White Hot Dinner for Deux
Call me crazy, but I do not recommend dining out for Valentine’s Day dinner. Most “romantic” restaurants offer an overpriced prix fixe menu of mediocre quality and the waiters are so busy you rarely receive good service. Instead, spend your money preparing a thoughtful meal at home for you and your sweetheart. Here’s a menu inspired by two things: my love for Philly and L-O-V-E itself.
Pink Pop
Bella Bell Peppers
8 oz plain Philly cream cheese
¼ tsp Coriander, ground
¼ cup pine nuts
Pepper to taste
Preheat broiler to high. Line cookie sheet with tin foil.
Slice green tops off bell peppers and remove any seeds; set aside.
In small bowl, combine cream cheese, coriander, pine nuts, and pepper.
Whisk until smooth. Use a butter knife to fill each pepper with the cream
cheese mixture. Place peppers on cookie sheet and broil for 2-3 minutes or
until peppers are slightly browned on top. Serve warm.
Salad
Spinach Salad with Apples and Pomegranate Seeds
Dessert(s)
Chocolate Cheesecake for Two or Creamy Lemon Tart
Décor
To make the dinner extra special,
create a romantic ambiance by setting a gorgeous table. Buy a large piece of
sheer, red fabric to drape over the table and tie off the corners with thick
gold or white ribbon. Candles are key!! Use your best dishes, (no paper
tonight) and glasses. Find some mellow music to play and spritz the air with a
spicy room spray such as cinnamon or clove. Enjoy!
