bestappetizers.jpgHere’s a thought: Did you know that the success of your next party could be determined by how good the food is? Good food brings people together, and makes the whole affair more enjoyable. Dull food will leave your party-goers with a bad taste in their mouths, literally. So to avoid a fiesta fiasco, spread some life into your next party by trying any of these appetizers using Philly Cream Cheese.

Finger Food is always a good idea at any gathering. It should be something simple and not so messy. That way your guests can enjoy a drink in one hand and a snack in the other. Try these one bite wonders: Mini Florentine Cups, which are roasted turkey cups filled with spinach and cream cheese. Or for something a little more crisp and clean serve Cream Cheese ‘n Herb Cucumber Bites, which are thick bite-sized pieces of fresh garden cucumber spread with Philadelphia Chive and Onion spread and topped with shredded carrot. These appetizers will leave your nice and clean, not greasy.

For some reason I see ham quite a bit at the parties I attend, and I think it’s because it goes well with cheeses, veggies and fruits, and like bacon it’s savory. People really seem to enjoy it. Please the masses with Ham Pinwheels, a small piece of ham with a little Philly original cream cheese spread across it and sprinkled with fresh chives. Roll up and serve on a buttery Ritz cracker. For something more formal skip the chives and try a Melon Ham Wrapper - wrap the ham and cream cheese slice around a piece of fresh melon such as honeydew or cantaloupe. Take an old party classic and such as Deviled Eggs and make the Philadelphia version of Sweet Pepper and Ham Deviled Eggs instead. Subtract the mayo and mix in Philadelphia original cream cheese and some chopped sweet peppers and ham.

Another way to go would to serve some baked goods. These savories are a little more filling and will keep your guests coming back for more. The Cream Cheese Bacon Crescents are filled with Philadelphia Chive and Onion cream cheese spread and chopped bacon, but you could also try it with Philadelphia Strawberry cream cheese and some strawberry jam. Serve both warm if possible, so the cheese melts a little. The Easy Bake Cheese & Pesto is sure to sit well with your guest. It’s a brick of Philadelphia cream cheese cut in half horizontally and spread with a layer of pesto or sun dried tomato paste and chopped roasted red pepper. Then the whole brick is incased in a giant flaky crescent roll and baked. Serve it on a platter with a butter knife, so people can cut a small piece for themselves to spread on crackers.

Try any of these at your next party and people will be begging you to throw another one the next weekend!
