Easiest Way to Spread Philly

If you had to find something you didn’t like about Philadelphia cream cheese, you would probably be at a loss of words right? You love the creamy taste and texture; it’s versatility in cooking in baking, its many flavors, and the way it pairs perfectly with just about anything. Yep, you love Philly through and through, at least until you find it a little hard to spread on that piece of toast in the morning, and you struggle so much you end up with broken bread.

Believe me, I love Philly as much as the next gal, but it can be a little bothersome when you only come out with half a chip when you dive into that dip, or find yourself looking through that piece of bread you were trying to make a cream cheese cucumber sandwich out of. Well kiss your worries goodbye:

  1. Buy Philadelphia Whipped . It’s easier to spread because air is whipped into the cheese giving it a light and airy texture that makes it easier to spread. It’s also great for those on a diet; it has 40% less saturated fat than butter.
  2. To soften a block of Philadelphia cream cheese, remove all foil packaging and place on a microwave safe plate and microwave on 50% power for about 1 min for an 8 ounce brick, or 30 seconds for a 3 ounce block, and then let it rest for 1 minute. *Remember though that when not using, cream cheese should be stored in the fridge, it’s one of the few cheeses that does not age, and should be used with in a week of opening.
