Madonna 5-0

Madonna celebrated her big 50th birthday, this past weekend, in a private party at the fashionable London club Volstead. The surprise party was put together by her director husband Guy Ritchie, who had apparently showered her with the gift of diamonds. Maybe because he feels that like the diamonds, Madonna seems to last forever. How many female superstars can say they look as fabulous as Madonna at a half a century?
Some of the highlights of the night were Madonna being serenaded by her daughter Lourdes on the piano, and later dancing with her and her other two children Rocco and David until 3 am. Another highlight of the party was David Blaine, entertaining other guests with fancy card tricks. That sure does beat the makeshift clown juggling oranges at any of my old birthday parties.
