Manny Pacquiao: The Mexicutioner
Posted on 08 December 2008 by Manny
Manny Pacquiao destroyed Oscar De La Hoya Saturday night, in front of millions. To tell you the truth, I knew that Oscar had no chance of beating Manny, but I didn’t expect De la Hoya to be such a coward about it. De La Hoya was circling around the ring playing defensive to his Golden Goose Manny. After watching the third round, it didn’t take a rocket scientist to realize that Oscar De La Hoya was fighting for money, and not glory. Why do you think he kept from throwing any real punches to Manny. It was all for show and promotion of Manny’s career, seeing as Oscar’s Golden Boy Productions will be handling Manny’s fights in the future.
The thing is, when you think about it, there is no Mexican fighter out there right now that can take on Manny. Maybe there is someone out there that is building up to be the warrior that the Mexican people are waiting for, but as of Saturday night, there is not one Mexican boxer that can take his crown. This is why many have dubbed Manny “The Mexicutioner.” Does anyone out there know of some knight in shining armor that can defeat this Grendel? Beowulf is dead, so who can rise to such a beast?
Well he has Ricky Hatton in his sights now, and after he beats him, I wouldn’t be surprised that Floyd Mayweather is going to want a piece of that action, and then he too will fall prey to the Mexecutioner. You don’t have to be Mexican to catch one in the face from Pacquiao, but it doesn’t help you any if you’re not either. This was a good stepping stone for Manny, and the next couple of fights look like they’re going to be interesting.
