Metallica Kills Demi Lovato with Death Magnetic
Posted on 01 October 2008 by Manny
Despite the heavy Mousketeer muscle, Disney’s Demi Lovato still fell beneath Metallica’s new album Death Magnetic on the charts.
Metallica still reigned supreme by the end of the week, according to SoundScan, on Sunday with another 132,000 sales.
Lovato finished second with a respectable 89,000. Despite being attacked, along with Selena Gomez, by Miley Cyrus in a video, she’s still got some fans out there. Some people even dare to say she just might be the next Miley Cyrus. All I have to say is, running second to Rock Icons Metallica is a good way to start.

alright alright, relax everybody! We’re all pals here discussing what’s on the media so there’s no need to get personal. I’m all about free speech and hate censorship but let’s keep it related to the article shall we? I appreciate Derka Derka’s feedback as well as Dees. I don’t expect everyone to agree and I like that people call me out on stuff so your opinion counts Dee. Like I said, since then Miley and Demi have kissed and made up. let’s all do the same. Thanks

Derka Derka, starting out by name calling automatically puts you in the loser’s column. It was a dead issue until the media decided to create a fabricated controversy. The people that wrote about it had only one goal in mind. To create a headline/story to hurt the girl. I suggest that you watch the video again, especially the end where the shoutouts occur.
If you are going to comment that most people would agree, you should at least find out that they are in agreement, not just assume it.

Dee is a fool. Manny just whooped you with better arguments. looks like you came to a battle of wits unarmed. I think that “most people” meant that most people who wrote about it, called it an attack, which is true because I saw it too I don’t think he had to ask someone. Pwned!

#1 We are not dealing with grownups. We are dealing with 15 and 16 year olds.
#2 The video was made almost 5 to 6 months ago, but you are treating it as if it happened yesterday.
#3 You used the phrase “most people”. I seriously doubt if you asked anyone.
#4 I still consider your remark as childish..

Ahh I see what you mean, BUT I would say it’s far from childish. In a grown up world, parodies can be seen as attacks on a person’s character. For example, Tina Fey’s parody on Sarah Palin, is obviously a parody, yet many have criticized it and deemed it an attack on her candidacy as well as her ability to perform a particular job. The principle’s are the same. You don’t have to agree, but most people in the entertainment world consider it an attack, because it was an attack (in the entertainment world) which is why I described it as such. Fortunately, since then, Miley and Demi have made up. Miley even wished her well and gave her advice on how to handle being famous. Just wanted to clear that up. Thanks for the feedback!
