The Teen Choice Awards were on fire last night with every tween star in sight at the Universal City’s Gibson Amphitheater.  Miley Cyrus hosted the event with her trademark enthusiasm and arrived at the event with controversial best friend, the twentysomething backup dancer Mandy Jiroux.

Also in attendance were frenemies Selena Gomez & Demi Lovato, Gossip Girl’s Penn Badgley & Blake Lively (who arrived together), Chace Crawford & Ed Westwick (who didn’t), Will Smith, Adam Sandler, Steve Carell, Lauren Conrad and of course, those dreamy Jonas Brothers (who caused mass hysteria).

The highlight of the evening though had to be when Miley took the stage and performed her smash hit 7 Things.  Then she delivered a rose to Fergie, who cheered from the audience, which prompted an impromptu performance between the two divas.  The crowd went crazy.  Of course, the crowd had a median age of 14.

E! airs a Red Carpet Special on the event this evening at 7PM/6PM CT, hosted by Guiliana Rancic & Kim Kardashian.  And the Teen Choice Awards 2008 air immediately after on Fox.
