The G1 is One Step Closer to the iPhone
Posted on 12 January 2009 by Manny
Some guy has found a way to add the multi-touch feature for the G1, just like on the iPhone!
I remember when I had this phone in my hand and it felt flimsy and cheap. I seriously saw it as a sidekick for adults, so I stuck with my Blackberry. Man how I regret it! The G2 is looking pretty nice, but until then, these hacks are going to pave the way for G2 and its hackers, I mean “developers.”
The guy modified one of the Java system libraries on the phone, and demonstrates a full working multi-touch on a stock G1. If that wasn’t cool enough, he made a nifty video for you, and the developers to take note. If anyone else tries to do this, let me know how it went!
