Online Cooking School

When I think of culinary school three things come to mind: super expensive tuition, sometimes testy chef instructors and a lot of slicing and dicing in meat classes. Despite my initial impressions, culinary school is a remarkable experience, and its a home chef’s happy place. What if you life the idea of culinary school, but don’t have the luxury of time to commit to a culinary program?
Rouxbe (pronounced roo-be) thinks you should be able to enjoy culinary school from home! If you think that sounds like madness, listen up! Rouxbe offers online cooking lessons, video tips and step by step video recipes. The basic idea is that you view a technique, learn how to apply it, and practice, practice, practice at home. It’s just like culinary school except you’re cooking in your home kitchen, and you don’t have an intimidating chef breathing down your neck. Once you learn the technique and its application, you can apply it to any recipe you come across. If you feel lost after your video instruction and at home practice sessions, they have a community of people to help you in the forum. How cool is that!?
Sign up at Rouxbe with the free or premium membership. The free membership gets you access to text recipes and short video tips. You also get recipe previews (who wants just a preview?) and one free cooking lesson. The premium membership is $99 for a year or $199 for a lifetime membership, and you get access to it all! Check out Rouxbe and see if it’s the culinary school for you!
