Did you know that Shish-kabobs are of Turkish origin and translated the term means, “skewer” and “roast meat.” Early Turkish soldiers would sometimes use their swords and daggers as tools to grill their meats over an open fire. Thus, the shish-kabobs were born. Nowadays, these are referred to as kabobs, kebobs, kibob, kabap, or kephav.  No matter what you call it, this delicious food on a skewer has become so versatile that anyone can create their own tasty kabob combinations.

With only four ingredients you can make this tasty and easy dish easily at home. You can effortlessly prepare it ahead of time for a picnic or have everyone design their own for a customized flavor. By brushing on Kraft Classic Ranch Dressing on your kabobs, you can create a unique and tantalizing flavor that will go great for almost any occasion!

Ranch-Style Steak Kabobs

What you need:

   4

new potatoes cut in half

1/4

cup  KRAFT Ranch Dressing, divided

   1

lb. boneless beef sirloin steak, cut lengthwise into 1/2-inch-thick slices

   8

cherry tomatoes

Make It:

Heat grill to medium-high heat. Cook potatoes in saucepan of boiling water 12 to 14 min. or until tender; drain. Cool slightly.

Reserve half of dressing. Thread meat, accordion style onto 4 skewers, alternating potatoes and tomatoes between folds of meat; brush with remaining dressing.

Grill 10 to 12 min. or until meat is done, brushing with reserved dressing the last 2 min.

Substitute:

Substitute KRAFT ROKA Blue Cheese Dressing for the Ranch dressing.

Substitute:

Mushrooms can be substituted for the baby new potatoes.

Cooking Know-How:

Soak wooden skewers in water for 30 minutes before adding kabob ingredients to prevent charring.
