Say Goodbye to Mother’s Cookies

300-93890 Say Goodbye to Mothers Cookies

What a sad, sad day for the grocery store cookie aisle.

I have the fondest memories of Mother’s cookies.  My parent’s weren’t big on the junk food aisle.  I remember only rarely passing through the cookie section of the grocery store and seeing my dad reach for an item.  On the rare occasion that he did, he always went for a package of Mother’s cookies.  Mother’s cookies remind me of Sunday afternoon picnics in the park with my family and Sunday school treats.  All so wholesome you just want to kick yourself, right?

As of Monday, Mother’s cookies is officially cutting off their memory making abilities.  The Oakland, California based company abruptly shut its doors this week, filing for bankruptcy.  They have sited the rising cost of fuel and supplies as their main reason for closing their doors.  Unfortunately, many people have lost their jobs and the country has lost one mighty fine cookie company.

That’s sad.. but I know I’m still seeing one of mother’s cookies product in some convenient store like 99c store. I believe that’s all must be whatever left from the productions. I’m also concerned about this country economy, imagining how many people has lost their job and one by one our fine produce company collapsed.
