Well that was fast, I put the over/under on a ticket to BlizzCon via eBay the week prior to the event at $650.  As it stands, the $100 tickets were manhandled from Blizzard’s exhausted site, and are now totally gone.

I’m not clear on how many tickets you can buy at a time, but I would hope that Blizzard would keep an eye on letting just anyone walk up and buy a large amount of tickets at the retail price, the guy would probably turn a 5k+ profit E-scalping them.  Still it wouldn’t be hard to set up an operation like that with multiple accounts.  It’s going to happen, there’s just too many suckers with too much money for it not to.

The main issue is that these expos and conferences have had a population burst over the last decade, and when Blizzcon is in a place like the Anaheim Convention Center you know more than a few people are going to get screwed.

So, in other words, if you don’t want to spend more than the 100 dollars retail price for admission you’re going to have to find a really nice second hand vendor, and if you want to see its live broadcast you better have DIRECTV.
