Skillet on the Street
Posted on 05 September 2008 by joy
There are several things I miss about living in Seattle. The beautiful, constant green. There’s water literally everywhere, surrounding the city and falling from the sky. The countless bakeries that I could always stop into for tea and cookies. Now to that list I can add Skillet.
Imagine ordering your lunch from a 1962 Airstream trailer. Imagine if that lunch were something as delicious as a Kobe beef burger served on brioche bread with bacon jam. The chefs from Skillet have made my dreams come true. They stop their truck at different spots everyday and serve up delicious, gourmet lunches at a great price. You’ll only pay between $6 and $10 for an incredible sidewalk lunch. The chefs behind Skillet have filled a void that they saw missing in the Seattle food dining world- gourmet street food. The endeavor had been successful, the two chefs serve up about 200 lunches a day. Want to get yourself a skillet lunch? Stalk them here.
If you don’t live in Seattle, don’t fret. Other cities around the country have their own version of gourmet street food. Check out Chef Shack in Minneapolis or Red Hood Ball Fields in New York, New York. Want to know more? Forbes will tell you all about it.
