Some Sweet Stats on Sugar
Posted on 29 December 2009 by Gina
Florida Crystals® strongly believes that replenishing the land their sugar canes grow on is as important as our everyday sugar usage. After all, they are America’s first and only certified organic sugar producers!
A sugar fan myself, I would like to share with you some surprisingly sweet statistics, courtesy of Florida Crystals–
· Did you know that one acre of sugar cane (with leaves and brush) can produce 10,000 kilowatts of electricity? That’s enough energy to power the average home for 10 months!
· The state-of-the-art renewable energy facility operated by Florida Crystals is reducing America’s dependence on foreign oil by 1 million barrels a year. In other words, that is equal to removing 53,000 cars off the road for one year!
Impressed? That is just the tip of the ice berg! To learn more on how sugar can make a difference, show your commitment to positive environmental change and be a part of Florida Crystals’ fan page on Facebook.
