Sushi Night- Los Angeles
Posted on 12 September 2008 by joy
It would seem that Los Angeles is mostly filled with three things: aspiring actors, Starbucks and sushi restaurants. This weekend I try to avoid the actors and the Starbucks, but date night this weekend will definitely be a sushi date.
There are endless sushi Los Angeles sushi options. For me, it all comes down to my favorite places. I have a handful that I frequent and always leave pleasantly full of fish. My sushi destination this weekend is Sushi Karen.
Sushi Karen is absolutely my favorite sushi restaurant in Los Angeles. It’s located in a rather unassuming strip of Washington Blvd in Culver City. The outside is very minimally designed and modern. The interior of the restaurant is equally sparse. Don’t be fooled up the clean, seemingly humble decor because the fish is absolutely out of this world!
The best dishes at Sushi Karen are located on the Specials board. Toshi, the chef is both innovative and fearless in his creations. I’m convinced that his Amberjack Sashimi in a jalapeno citrus sauce makes the world a better place. Allow me a few moments to wax poetic about the Crunchy Roll. The Crunchy Roll is a spicy tuna roll, lightly battered in something magical, fried and sprinkled with pink and green sushi sprinkles (yes!) and a creamy sauce. It’s incredible. Whenever I go with friends, it would seem that we can never order enough of the Crunchy Roll. It’s like a sushi doughnut. It’s incredible!
If you’re in the market for incredible sushi in Los Angeles, you must pay a visit to Toshi at Sushi Karen. Besides, any man who names his sushi restaurant after his little daughter, must be doing something right.
10762 Washington Blvd

Street parking is usually not a problem and the restaurant is hardly ever packed to the gills.
