Happy ‘Eat a Red Apple Day’! You may have noticed an abundance of red apples filling the stores! In celebration of this special day, we suggest this Turkey-Apple Sandwich. We picked this recipe for today because we think a few of you may still have some leftover turkey that you’re not quite sure what to do with! Well, this recipe uses your leftover Thanksgiving turkey, or OSCAR MAYER Deli Fresh Shaved Smoked Turkey Breast, and adds apples for that extra crunch and sweetness. To really bring out the flavor, this recipe uses KRAFT Light CATALINA Dressing and MIRACLE WHIP Dressing blended together to create a complementary mix of flavors for this modern sandwich.

When shopping for apples, remember to select firm apples with well-colored skins that aren’t broken or bruised.

Looking to add a little something wonderful to another boring oatmeal breakfast? All you need is a few apples and a bit of butter. Cooking apples with butter and sugar not only makes your kitchen smell like a slice of apple pie heaven, it’s also a great way to fancy up a breakfast cereal like oatmeal, or even buttermilk pancakes if you’re tired of traditional maple syrup.

Sauteed Apples

1/4 cup butter

4 large tart apples – peeled, cored and sliced 1/4 inch thick

2 teaspoons cornstarch

1/2 cup cold water

1/2 cup brown sugar

1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon

In a large skillet or saucepan, melt butter over medium heat; add apples. Cook, stirring constantly, until apples are almost tender, about 6 to 7 minutes.

Dissolve cornstarch in water; add to skillet. Stir in brown sugar and cinnamon. Boil for 2 minutes, stirring occasionally. Remove from heat and serve warm over oatmeal or pancakes. So Yummy!
