Riding on their latest expansion release Wrath of the Lich King, Blizzard has announced that the perpetually growing base of the world’s most popular MMO World of Warcraft has now reached 11.5 million subscribers.

Blizzard has released a patch for its decade old RTS hit StarCraft.
Patch 1.16 offers some optimizations: “[StarCraft] now only uses as much CPU as it needs to run smoothly.” In-game chat (excluding whispers) is now saved in the replays. There’s some bug fixes and the removal of several exploits including Terrans drop-anywhere nukes and some additional Zerg [...] [...more]
Blizzard has brought down the law on their online service Battle.net banning 350,000 hackers from using the StarCraft/Diablo II application.

Blizzard today announced, during its BlizzCon StarCraft II panel, that StarCraft II is being turned into a trilogy.
The first game in the trilogy will consist of the Terran campaign, and is currently titled “Terrans: Wings of Liberty.”

Blizzard has revealed, through its playable demo of Diablo 3 at Blizzcon, that the Wizard has joined the short list of announced character classes for the upcoming sequel.
Joining the previously announced Witch Doctor and Barbarian classes, the Wizard will “manipulate primal forces of the universe to vanquish foes.”

World of Warcraft developer Blizzard has been awarded $6 million due to MDY Industries’ sales of the MMO Glider software, which allowed players to auto-assign actions and gain expereince while not actively playing the game.
