Hold everything!  Before you buy that airline ticket, go car shopping, or take those multi-vitamins check your watch and bust out your calendar.  Timing is important.  Whether it’s for the health of your body, or the health of your pocketbook, here are the six best times to do all those ordinary things.

The Best Time to Work Out

Thes best time to work out is when your body temperature is at its highest.  That’s when your workout will be the most productive.  Your body will have the most strength and flexibility, and just be all around happier to get some movement.  Our bodies are at their lowest temperature about 1-3 hours before we wake up.  Body temperature is at its highest in the late afternoon, so excersizing in the afternoon or early evening is a great way to make sure you get the most out of your workout!

The Best Time to Buy Airline Tickets

Simply put, the best time to buy an airline ticket is: Wednesday.  The middle of the week is when airlines release their available seats for the upcoming weekend and weekend after.  While it is best to book at least 2 weeks in advance, for a last minute trip, you’ll find cheaper fares a just a few days before travel as opposed to a week before travel.  Tricky, right?

 The Best Time to Buy a Car

The best time to buy a car is in late summer/ early fall.  That’s when carmakers release new models and dealers want to get rid of last years leftovers.  The end of the month is also a good time to go car shopping.  By the end of the month dealers are under pressure to make their monthly sales numbers and be a bit more flexible in working with you.  The best times to get the undivided attention of a car slaesman, if you like that sort of thing, is in the early morning, or midweek, when the dealership is less crowded. 

The Best Time to Take Your Vitamins

This isn’t a hard one.  The answer is right on the bottle, but sometimes we just don’t listen.  The best time to take that multi-vitamin is with a meal, or right after you’ve eaten.  The digestive action that occurs after you eat makes it easier to break down the vitamins, and your body absords the nutrients better too.  Plus you can avoid any stomach aches that might occur from taking vitamins on an empty stomach. 

The Best Time to Conceive

The best time to coceive is in the early evening.  Believe it or not, between 5:00 and 5:30 pm men have their highest sperm counts of the day.  If you’re trying to conceive, plan an afterwork tryst when you’re ovulating, which is about 2 weeks before you period. 

The Best Time To Moisturize

The best time to slather on that body lotion is within 3 minutes of getting out of the showerl  That’s when pores are open and can best absorb moisture.  For maximum effect, pat your skin dry, leaving a little moisture from the shower on your skin.  When you apply lotion, some of the moisture from the shower will be absorbed into the skin.  That makes you a winner!
