I know it’s a sin to live in Hollywood and not be obsessed with stars. My sister is a producer at Paramount and I didn’t even bat an eyelash to try to get onto the lot Sunday for the very over-hyped VMAs. Why? Well, mostly because I don’t like awards shows. Do I like to see what people are wearing? Duh, of course I do. But sitting in a chair for that long with loud music and screaming fans, while listening to artists who can’t sing either try to do so live, or watch them mouth the words to their latest hit while we all enjoy the bomb track their sound engineers put together for them. So who’s in and who’s out, when it comes to fashion?
While Rihanna’s hair was lookin’ hella fierce (with 3 snaps in a “Z” formation) her red carpet getup was lookin’ a hot mess! The bustier was so cute but what the hell was with her skirt and who told her it was ok to wear those t-strap orthopedic platforms?! Oh, Ri-Ri pls get a new stylist already. The number two offender is Mrs. Aguilera. I love that homegirl reinvents herself so often. If nothing else, it’s fun to see what she’ll come up with next but what I was not banking on was her transforming herself into the blond version of Elvira. Who said it was ok for her to leave her house lookin’ like the Mistress of Darkness in that spiderweb dress get-up?!
On the upside, there were some serious fashion “DOs.” Everyone’s favorite crazy ass blond totally showed up looking fabulous and all there. You’d never be able to tell that just last year Brit-Brit had “sleepwalked” her way through a performance due to the drug induced melt down she was suffering. She was back to her usual tan, smiley, happy self! her body was tight in all the right places and jiggly in all the right one’s as well. She looked awesome in her vintage Atelier Versace dress. Another future Disney slut, Miley Cyrus, walked the Red Carpet and made nice with Katy Perry. She looked good in her age appropriate frock and not too tan skin made her reddish brown locks really pop. She looked like a dream.
