What to do with that Dusty Crockpot

Is mine the only crock pots that’s dusty and forgotten? Just this morning I had to perform miraculous surgery to extract a forgotten pot from under and equally forgotten crockpot. When my crockpot nearly broke from my rough, unappreciative treatment, I got to thinking, maybe I should actually use this thing.

With temperatures still well into the high 80’s in my small apartment, I can barely think about turning on the stove top, let alone the oven. But a girl still has to eat! That’s where my crockpot might come in handy. I could throw some chicken, veggies and broth into the crock pot in the morning before I leave for work, and come home to a warm chicken dinner (and still slightly warm apartment). I also have loads of summer produce currently languishing my my refrigerator. Well, they’re going to get the slow cooking treatment too.

Here’s how:

Slow Cooked Lemon Chicken

Chicken Curry with Rice

Cherry Crisp

Baked Apples

Butternut Squash with Brown Sugar and Cinnamon

Parmesan Scalloped Potatoes

Duh woman! The crockpot is a working person’s savior! The only downside is that the entire house smells like whatever is cooking…for days it seems. Oh, and if you work way longer than anticipated meat can dry out. Other than that, its so great because it makes dinner a breeze.
