What’s in Your Candy Bowl?

I have some very fond memories of Halloween with my little sister. There was nothing more exciting, in my seven year old mind, that getting dressed up and walking around the neighborhood with my sister, going door to door asking for free candy. It felt like we would be out for hours and hours. We must have been, because at the end of the night, my sister and I would have two pillowcases full of loot.
While sitting at the dining room table, sorting our candy and making trades, my sister would always dig into anything labeled Reese’s Peanut Butter. I would go for M&M’s, and Mom, who felt entitled to a majority of the chocolate as payment for having to follow us around all night, would reach for the Snickers bars. We all had out favorites, and it always worked out beautifully.
This year I’ll be handing out candy by the handful, so I’ll gladly end up with an empty bowl at the end of the night instead of an overflowing candy fest. It’s better that way. My hips will thank me.
What’s in your candy bowl this year?
